Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason one has arrived and Treyarch has added quite a bit of content to keep the game fresh. The new patch offers changes to both zombies and competitive multiplayer, including new maps, weapons and modes.
The new maps are probably the biggest addition of the new season. Three new 6v6 maps will be released in Season 1. There’s The Pines, set in a 1980s New Jersey mall, Raid, a fan favorite. Black Ops II, and Nuketown ’84 Holiday, a festive themed version of Nuketown ’84. Each of these cards is available in matchmaking and in special playlists.
The Season 1 patch also adds two new weapons to the game, both of which can be unlocked for free just by playing. The Mac-10 is a compact SMG with a high rate of fire and can be unlocked by reaching Tier 15 in the Free Battle Pass. Meanwhile, the Groza is an assault rifle perfect for close range combat thanks to its fast rate of fire and excellent handling. The Groza can be unlocked at level 31 of the Battle Pass.
Finally, a few new modes are coming in Season 1, including the return of Modern warfare‘s hugely popular Gunfight 2v2 mode. There will also be a new mode for zombies called Jingle Hells, bringing a festive touch to the undead wasteland of Die Maschine.
