A spokesman for California Gov. Gavin Newsom wants Twitter to know that its boss is responding to interview requests and is not trying to break big news about TikTok – unlike the incumbent, according to some critics.
“The view from the stage of @ Kevin_Faulconer’s highly attended press conference on Tuesday, where he answered every question and then went on to conduct one-on-one interviews with dozens of California journalists,” wrote Matt Shupe, a Faulconer spokesperson. “Dramatic contrast in accessibility and transparency for @CAgovernor.”
Shupe shared the picture in response to another tweet from Politico writer Carla Marinucci who criticized Newsom for admitting only one reporter to a press conference earlier this week.

The image showed at least eleven journalists and nine news cameras surrounding Faulconer’s stage on a California sidewalk.

Newsom, who has been criticized for transparency issues, has not responded to multiple requests from Fox News for comment on the recall and other stories. Newsom’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on this story on Saturday.

Faulconer, a former Republican Mayor of San Diego, has vowed to oppose Newsom if the recall petition succeeds in securing the necessary 1,495,709 signatures by March 17. .com.

California’s last Republican governor was movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was voted into office in 2003. That election also followed the recall of a Democrat – former Governor Gray Davis.
