CA health worker dies days after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine

A California X-ray technician died earlier this month, just four days after receiving his second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, a report said.

Tim Zook, 60, died at UC Irvine Medical Center on Jan. 9 after first becoming ill at the South Coast Global Medical Center – where he worked – hours after receiving the second shot, the Orange County Register reported.

Zook, a married father of three, shared his excitement on Facebook after completing the vaccination.

“Never been more excited to get an injection,” he wrote on Jan. 5, the report said. “I am now fully vaccinated after receiving my 2nd dose of Pfizer.”

Due to his rapid deterioration in health and eventual death, his wife, Rochelle Zook, is looking for answers.

She said that, apart from the high blood pressure, which was controlled with medication, and that he was slightly overweight, her husband was healthy.

“We don’t blame any pharmaceutical company,” Rochelle told the newspaper. “But if someone gets symptoms 2 1/2 hours after vaccination, that’s a reaction. What else could have happened?

The message is, be safe, get the vaccine – but officials need to do more research. We need to know the cause. The vaccines must be as safe as possible. Every life is important, ”she said.

Tim’s cause of death, which has not yet been determined, is under investigation by the Orange County Coroner, the report said.

“If it is determined that there may be a link to the vaccine, we will immediately notify the OC Health Care Agency,” Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the coroner’s office, told the newspaper.

California’s Health and Human Services is also investigating state deaths that may be related to the vaccine.
