Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd – who became a billionaire this week following the launch of the company’s successful IPO – remains grounded in the hustle and bustle.
In an internal Slack sent to staff and seen by Page Six, Herd congratulated her team and urged them to remain “humble, kind and cooperative.”
“Don’t look at the stock, but don’t look at the feedback and growth from customers,” wrote Herd, 31, the youngest female CEO to disclose a company. “Watch for success stories and customer complaints … We’re not perfect, but every day is an opportunity for us to improve. Let us remain humble, kind, and cooperative. Tomorrow’s success is not promised, and it is our character and values that hold us together during the ups and downs ahead. “
Herd also reiterated her commitment to “putting inclusion, diversity and equality first among our priorities.”
“We will do the right thing, and we will lead with our values,” she wrote. “Please remember we all do this together – communicate and nurture each other.”
Bumble is the dating app that puts women in control by letting them take the first step. It was valued at $ 8.7 billion on Friday after the company’s stock rose 63 percent to $ 70.31 following its market debut on Thursday.
