Buckingham Palace – Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, dies

The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 99, the British royal family said in a statement.

“It is with great regret that Her Majesty the Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” Buckingham Palace noted in the note.

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. ‘

In this sense, the official statement notes that the British Royal Family “mourns this loss along with people around the world.”

Prince Philip dies after becoming the surviving royal consort of the British Crown, standing next to Queen Elizabeth II for more than seventy years.
