Browns leads NFL in salary capital transfer

Earlier today, the NFL Players Association announced (via Twitter) the amounts carried over for the salary cap for all 32 NFL teams for the 2021 season. In effect, teams can turn over their unused caps from the previous season. So when the salary limit numbers for 2021 become official, they can be added to each team’s transferred amount to determine that individual club’s official limit for 2021.

This follows news from earlier today that the NFL has raised its salary cap to $ 180 million for 2021. This total could point us to the salary cap, which could eventually land north of $ 190 million. The salary cap was $ 198.2 million for the 2020 campaign.

As the NFLPA has outlined, the league will transfer $ 315.1 million as of the 2020 season, an average of $ 9.8 million per team. The Browns lead the league with a whopping $ 30.4 million, and they are the only top five team to make it to the playoffs. The NFC East ($ 68.8 million) and AFC East ($ 65.3 million) are the two divisions that will have the largest transfer amounts.
