Browns have an interest in free agent LB Lavonte David

One of the most attractive free agents in the market once the signing period starts on March 17th is Lavonte David. The Buccaneers fast, smart linebacker thinks he has plenty of suitors after his prominent role in helping Tampa Bay to victory in Super Bowl LV.

And according to a report by Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, the Cleveland Browns will be one of the teams chasing David. Cabot notes that sources have told her the Browns will be interested in David as the team’s main target in free agency.

David will not come cheap. The 31-year-old has recorded at least 100 tackles in eight of his nine NFL seasons, all in Tampa Bay. David had 117 tackles, one INT, one sack, three forced fumbles, 12 tackles for loss and six PDs in 2020.

However, there is a robust market for free agents at linebacker. The Browns have not prioritized issuing the position under GM Andrew Berry. But with adding speed and versatility to the position that is a great off-season need, David may be drawing serious attention from the Browns.
