Brooklyn, NY, debuted a new statue of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Created by artists Gillie and Marc in consultation with Ginsburg before her death, the bronze statue commemorates the late feminist icon during Women’s History Month.

“We had the honor and privilege of creating Justice Ginsburg’s distinguished likeness in eternal bronze as part of Statues for Equality. The latter image reflects her desire to be portrayed in a dignified manner.”The artists said of their inspiration, according to City Point, where the image will be on display.
They continued, saying: “With the two steps on the grand base representing the Supreme Court and the climb she took to get there, the work is intended to give the audience the opportunity to stand by her side and draw inspiration from her journey for equal rights. “
Adams named March 15 “Justice Ginsburg Day” in Brooklyn in honor of the gender equality champion, who died of pancreatic cancer in September.
The image is available for viewing by reservation, which can be made up to 60 days in advance.
