The newest member of Chiefs Kingdom has arrived.
On Sunday, Brittany Matthews, the fiancé of Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chief quarterback, announced the birth of the couple’s first child, a girl named Sterling.
Sterling Skye Mahomes, Brittany posted on Instagram, noting that the couple’s bundle of joy was born Saturday and weighs 6 lbs., 11 oz.
In a photo shared on her page, Matthews is seen wearing a ‘Sterling’ necklace glimpsing her newborn daughter’s hand. Mahomes, 25, also posted the same image.
Prior to Sterling’s birth, Matthews shared photos from her pregnancy photo shoot with Mahomes.
“My king,” she gushed on Instagram at the time.
Matthews, a certified personal trainer, announced her pregnancy in September, the same month she and Mahomes were engaged.
“Mum and dad take a small detour to the wedding,” Matthews posted on Instagram at the time.
Mahomes, the 2020 Super Bowl MVP, signed the richest contract in sports history this summer, a 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth $ 503 million.
The Chiefs recently fell in the 2021 Super Bowl before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this month.
