British police say the EU has “made a mistake” about COVID-19 vaccines

The European Union acknowledged that it had “made a mistake” when it set up an emergency facility to control exports of the COVID-19 vaccine, a British police said.

The EU’s attempt to control the flow of vaccines within its borders sparked controversy as officials threatened to prevent vaccinations from entering Northern Ireland, rekindling a tense dispute over the country’s status in a post-Brexit world .

According to the BBC, UK Cabinet Office Secretary Michael Gove and the European Commission agreed to end any dispute and allow vaccines to cross the border, putting the people of Northern Ireland first.

Gove said he had confidence in the UK’s vaccine stockpile and it was on track to administer 15 million injections by February 15, the BBC reported.
