although The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild came out almost four years ago, people continue to do well incredible performance in the game. Example: This player nails a Guardian with an arrow from more than 1,400 meters away.

Neko is one Breath of the wilderness player from Japan with a comprehensive summary of impressive achievements, many of which are on their own YouTube and Twitter Pages. But the video they uploaded yesterday definitely takes the cake.

After jumping off the balcony of the Temple of Time at the start of the game, Neko seemingly randomly shoots an Ancient Arrow into the air. Only by following that arrow over a long distance (and more than one loading zone) with a Bullet time bounce that Neko is able to reveal the missile’s destination: an unsuspecting Guardian, who is soon reduced to a pile of smoke and debris.

Neko says the Guardian is more than 1,400 yards from their starting position, but that’s not a number they suspected. Combining the Bird Man Research Study minigame (which measures how far you can travel with Link’s paraglider) with a few glitches allows Neko to come up with a fairly accurate distance for their sniper. It’s all explained in the video (make sure to enable English subtitles if you can’t read Japanese).

Breath of the wilderness is one of the best open world games of all time, and it is a testament to how well the developers of Nintendo have combined intricate mechanics with a rich physics-based environment that players continue to challenge themselves in this way.
