Doom and Doom II will never die.
I can confirm this as I recently completed the sequel to Switch for the billionth time. It’s one of the few games where it’s quite a given that it will be re-released over and over again, especially as a lot of old school lost levels from id Software and the community get spread over time. That’s the kind of game history you don’t want to lose on a faulty floppy disc in a cardboard box somewhere.
To this end, Bethesda has granted access to Doom Zero: A free 32-level strong DLC for owners Doom or Doom II. Described as DLC that is “not low in calories” (you could have gone a bit more hardcore there!), It includes “new enemies, bosses, sounds, music, and sprites”. Yet it is still a lot
