Bolivian President Luis Arce has announced the discovery of a ‘mega-field’ for gas in the Chuquisaca Department, in the south of the country, as part of explorations by YPFB and the Repsol, Shell and PAE consortium.

Arce has explained that the discovery was made at the Boicobo Sur-X1 well, located in Luis Calvo province, in Chuquisaca, with 1 TCF (a trillion cubic feet) that he trusted would start operating in late 2021.
“ Everything indicates that this well will go into production until the end of 2021 and will therefore make an important contribution to the entire hydrocarbon policy that applies to our country, ” he emphasized, according to the ABI news agency.
The Bolivian president recalled that this project had a budget of $ 102 million, of which $ 74 million was carried out for the exploratory drilling work.
