Boeing 737 MAX makes an unplanned landing after an engine problem

An Air Canada Boeing 737 Max jet made an unplanned – but safe – landing on Friday due to engine trouble.

There were three crew members on board only for passengers. No injuries were reported.

The plane was flying from Arizona to Montreal when pilots received an engine warning and decided to change their route so they could take off in Tucson, Arizona, the BBC reported.

According to Aviation.24.be, a Belgian aviation news website, there was a warning of “hydraulic low pressure left engine” and a fuel imbalance problem.

In 2019, U.S. aviation regulators grounded all 737 Max aircraft after two fatal accidents only five months apart. The crashes – one in Indonesia, the other in Ethiopia – cost a total of 346.

In mid-November, the FAA gave permission for the planes to resume operation after Boeing revised the plane’s automated flight software, causing the planes to dive.
