Bobby Lashley could argue with three-time WWE World Champion

Bobby Lashley kicked off the first night of WrestleMania 37 with a successful title defense over Drew McIntyre. The All Mighty Era is all set to continue on Monday Night RAW, with all eyes on the next WWE title challenger.

Dave Meltzer speculated about the possible plans for Bobby Lashley on the post-WrestleMania 37 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer explained that the final finish of Bobby Lashley’s match against Drew McIntyre did not lead to a rematch:

The point is, and again, I don’t know. I’ll probably ask tomorrow, but what they do with it, like. Okay, so it wasn’t really a good wrap-up to build a rematch out of, and still think I don’t think WrestleMania should be a show in the title match at WrestleMania, when the baby face is on the hunt, that you set a finish for Backlash of Money on the Bank or whatever I mean it’s like you can do that on the show before WrestleMania, but I wouldn’t do it at WrestleMania. That wasn’t the finish you’d do to build a rematch anyway. ”

Bobby Lashley to The Fiend?

Meltzer highlighted the lack of credible baby faces to take on a heel champion like Bobby Lashley. Brock Lesnar is not expected to return any time soon. WWE could eventually book ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt in a storyline with Bobby Lashley.

Meltzer stated that The Fiend is the only top-tier baby face on RAW who can have a show with Bobby Lashley.

The Fiend is also the favorite to beat Randy Orton on the second night of WrestleMania 37. Wyatt could then be rewarded with another WWE title story:

What baby face, in theory; it could even be a heel; who will Lashley face if it’s not Drew? Brock won’t be back next month. The Fiend is an answer that scares me to death. Here’s the thing, The Fiend is probably beat Randy Orton I mean I would think that and if that’s the case god can you imagine it’s the only thing I can think of Why you beat Drew The only reason Lashley would beat Drew is because they’re going to put on another baby face, ‘Meltzer said.

Meltzer ruled out the possibility of Sheamus being booked with Bobby Lashley in the title photo.

Meltzer said a rematch between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre at the next PPV could be a possibility. However, the WrestleMania 37 finish wasn’t ideal for setting up an engaging rematch scenario:

‘I don’t see it’s Sheamus; I don’t know if Sheamus is a baby face or a heel; he goes back and forth in the middle of each promo. But Sheamus is already known as someone who is not on Drew’s level. So, who’s the next big strong baby face, and it’s probably going to be The Fiend. So it’s kind of the only direction I can think of unless they let Lashley go for a rematch, but if they did Lashley is going for a rematch, what a stupid ending this was! “

Bobby Lashley will enter the RAW after WrestleMania 37 as the WWE Champion, and WWE should ideally reveal his next opponent in the episode.
