LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a fatal car accident that occurred in Lauderhill Monday morning.

Lauderhill police, Lieutenant Michael Santiago, said officers came to the scene to find two vehicles with major damage.
He said detectives think a BMW involved in the collision was driving north on State Road 7 while a Mercedes-Benz drove south before attempting to turn left to drive east on Northwest 16th Street.
As the Mercedes turned left, the two vehicles collided, causing the BMW to crash into a nearby bus stop, Santiago said.
The driver of the BMW was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.
The driver of the Mercedes was not injured and is participating in the investigation, Santiago said.
