Billie Lourd says son Kingston is not a ‘quarantine baby’ and reveals Carrie Fisher’s favorite book

Star Wars stunner Billie Lourd discussed motherhood, her favorite book written by her late mother Carrie Fisher and more in a Radio Andy interview that aired in full this Friday at 1pm EST.

The 28-year-old new mom was grilled by none other than her stepfather Bruce Bozzi, who married her father CAA co-chair Bryan Lourd in 2016 when she was 14.

Billie surprised everyone on September 24 by announcing the birth of her son Kingston Fisher three months after she announced her engagement to fiancé Austen Rydell.

“He’s not technically a quarantine baby,” Lourd said on the SiriusXM show Quarantined with Bruce.

‘And I want to make that known because many people have trendy quarantine babies. Kingston was conceived before quarantine. So technically he’s just a Caribbean baby. ‘

The Los Angeles resident called the coronavirus pandemic a ‘blessing in disguise’ because she was allowed to keep the news all to herself.

“Only my family knew and no one else knew, as everyone was so surprised when we posted that little photo of his feet,” Billie told 54-year-old Palm Restaurant Group VP.

‘It just became something that I shared with the people I loved most, which was so incredible and made my pregnancy so magical and wonderful, which I didn’t expect, but it turned out to be the best experience I just have to eat good food , hanging out with the people I love, doing Legos all the time. I took a HypnoBirthing class and loved being pregnant. ‘

In 2016, Lourd began dating 28-year-old Moon Brothers musician – whose grandfather is On Golden Pond director Mark Rydell – but parenthood brought them even closer.

‘He was so caring and incredible and cooked for me and gave me foot massages. And [he] did these lessons with me, ”gushed Joe Biden’s supporter.

He did the lactation class, he did the positive birth class. So he was with me every step of the way. And we have just become even closer friends, even better partners. And I think it prepared us to be the best parents, and he’s setting there with the baby right now. And he is, as you know, the best dad in the world. And I think that’s partly because we have to have this experience together. ‘

Billie also revealed her top three books written by her late mother – Surrender the Pink (about her marriage to Paul Simon), Postcards from the Edge, and Delusions of Grandma.

‘It’s so incredible and it’s structured with letters to me while she’s pregnant with me,’ Lourd marveled at the 1994 tome.

‘I have to reread it now that I’ve had a baby. I think it would be a totally different experience and so incredible. But I should have called the name Esme, which thank goodness I wasn’t, sorry for everyone called Esme. It’s a nice name, but I prefer Billie. It’s super, super sweet and great. ‘

Sadly, Fisher died in 2016, aged 60, of sleep apnea / drugs and the next day, her famous grandmother Debbie Reynolds, aged 84, died of a stroke.

The NYU graduate inherited their $ 18 million Beverly Hills compound, and her mother and grandmother share a crypt in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills.

Billie said she “ hopes to work again soon ” with Olivia Wilde, who directed her as drug-crazed teen Gigi in the 2019 hit indie comedy Booksmart.

‘I am so proud of Olivia and so excited for Olivia. She is amazing. I mean, she was with us until 7 in the morning, like dancing, making music, like she was, her energy level was the same as everyone else, ‘Lourd said.

‘That’s so rare with a director and what she really had. And she pushed us all to the limit and in the best way, literally giving us wings. And it was simply the best experience. ‘
