Billie Eilish talks about her romance with rapper 7: AMP and their eventual split in new documentary: ‘I just wasn’t happy’

Billie Eilish gives her legion of fans an unvarnished glimpse into her personal life and the creative process behind her hit debut studio album in the new documentary, The World’s A Little Blurry, which came out Friday.

The doc follows her from the last part of the recording for – When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? – to the 2020 Grammys, where she took home four trophies from six nominations at the age of 18.

The 19-year-old, who has kept her dating life largely private, talks about her relationship with rapper 7: AMP (born Brandon Adams), 24, whom she calls ‘Q’.

In the beginning of the Apple TV + document, she can hear Q say she loves him over the phone, but as the end draws near, Eilish breaks up with him.

As more is revealed, it can be seen that Eilish is having a hard time getting a hold of Q while on tour, and again when she returns home to Los Angeles, where he also lives.

She would cut it off during a conversation with him before taking the stage for a performance at Pier 17 in New York City.

‘I just wasn’t happy. I didn’t want the same things he wanted and I don’t think that’s fair to him, ‘says the Everything I Wanted singer.

“I don’t think you should be in a relationship that’s super excited about things that the other person doesn’t care about.”

Eilish tries to be honest with herself and explains that she didn’t think the state of their romance was ‘fair’ to any of them.

‘There was just a lack of effort. I was literally thinking, “Dude, you don’t have enough love to love yourself, so you can’t love me, dude. And you don’t. [laughs] You think so. ”

With some time to think about the end of the relationship, she admits she still loves Q.

‘I am not over him, I have not found anyone else. I just kept on loving him, ”she explains.

‘I just went away from him for a while and I was like,’ Wow, I miss so much because I worry about you all the time and I don’t want what you want and you don’t want what I want. ‘I don’t want to fix it . I can’t fix it. I’ve tried.’

There is a scene in the document where Eilish forgets the lyrics to one of her songs during a show at Coachella and calls Q, seemingly for some support. Before she hangs up, she throws the phone on the floor in frustration, it reports People.

Q would break his hand after hitting a wall, and Eilish tells a friend, “I’m trying to get him to go into therapy. He is so self-destructive. ‘

In another scene, she reveals that Q didn’t give her anything for Valentine’s Day when she was asked how they celebrated the lover’s holiday.

Eilish quickly rose to fame after her breakout song, Ocean Eyes, in 2015, when she was only 13 years old.

Four years later, when we all fall asleep, where do we go? debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and became one of the best-selling albums of 2019.
