For a hot performer notorious for hiding her young body in deliberately not sexy baggy clothes, Billie Eilish certainly makes a lot of fuss about breasts.
As the latest A-lister to compete in the viral “Post a Photo Of” Instagram Challenge, the “Bad Guy” singer appears to have lost 100,000 followers in an hour on Tuesday – after sharing a series of images of female breasts.
Like a fan documented on Twitter, Eilish’s follower count decreased rapidly from 73 million on the platform to 72.9 million.
But the entire episode seems to have cracked the 19-year-old Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, who happens to be one of the most followed individuals on the ‘Gram.
“” LMFAOOO all of you babies smh “she posted along with a screenshot on her Instagram story.
In response to a fan’s question, ‘Post a picture of: a drawing you’re really proud of’, Eilish replied ‘probably this one’ and shared a series of artful paintings and sketches of the breasts, nipples and butts, some with a huge snake that envelops the naked female bodies of different shapes and sizes. The now expired artwork was captured and shared for posterity by Cosmopolitan and Consequence of noise.
While the dip was due to some social media swings, her watchdog fan base was soon blaming her share of the captive fandom.
“Don’t day she lose 100K of tits,” a fan tweeted with screenshots of the slightly reduced number of followers.
Fear not, the number of followers of Eilish on Instagram had risen again to 73 million from Wednesday morning.
#Breastgate isn’t the first time the female form has sparked controversy online for Eilish, though. In early March – just before the coronavirus pandemic killed her tour – she dropped a now viral video of herself in a revealing (at least for her) black tank top.
The images showed Eilish: “If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman. When I shed the layers I’m a slut. Even though you’ve never seen my body, you still judge and judge me for it. Why? We make assumptions about people based on their size. We decide who they are, we decide what they are worth. If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me? What does that mean? Is my value based solely on your perception? Or is your opinion about me not my responsibility? “
Next up: In December, she responded to a disgraceful response to supposedly unflattering paparazzi photos: “Everybody says, ‘Damn, Billie got fat!’” She said, mocking her haters. And I’m like, ‘No, this is exactly what I look like! You just have never seen it before! ”
She also sparked a fanatic last week when she posted, “I’m making you a great album. I won’t take it off if you keep making fun of my hair.”
It seems she has much less superficial things on her mind: “I’m going to give you a new era,” she continued. “I have to make announcements, I have to make a few things.”
