In recent days, the ‘Bermuda triangle‘, that mysterious part of the earth between Miami, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, was one of the most popular topics of conversation among people.
This was due to the fact that a statement by John Tarduno, a professor of geophysics at the University of Rochester, was recorded in August 2020.
At the time, the academic was related to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, for the acronym in English) of the United States. However, Tarduno and the agency have nothing to do with each other.

It was initially published that Tarduno had said, “ I don’t like the nickname of the ‘Bermuda Triangle’, but in that area the lower intensity of the Earth’s magnetic field makes the satellites more vulnerable to energetic particles, to the point that there are damage to spacecraft can occur when traversing the area ”.
While his words were true, the academic was not referring to the ‘Bermuda Triangle’ in the North American region, but to the South Atlantic Anomaly (or SAA, for the acronym in English).
And what is the SAA? It is an area in space over the Atlantic Ocean (between Brazil and Africa) where satellites and other electronic devices behave in a certain way because of a weakness in the Earth’s magnetic field.

Many scientists have dubbed this area the ‘Bermuda Triangle’ of space, ‘a nickname that not everyone (including Tarduno) likes because it can be misinterpreted.
It should also be said that this region of space is studied not only by NASA, but also by all space agencies, as understanding this space region is essential for the performance of its various missions, manned and unmanned.
