Beer chases a skier down the mountain in Romania: “Don’t look back!”

This skier probably couldn’t tolerate another minute on the slopes.

A young man’s quick thinking may have saved his life, after throwing his backpack to distract a bear chasing him on a ski slope in Romania.

It was quite a spectacle on the slopes of Predeal mountain resort in Brasov district last month when a brown bear attacked the ski tourist, Digi24 reports.

GRIZZLY BEAR CAUGHT IN YELLOWSTONE CONFIRMED AS THE OLDEST REGION

“Faster, faster! Go, the bear is chasing you! Faster! God forbid, don’t look back!” onlookers screamed from the chairlift on January 23.

Probably bearing in mind that his capabilities were limited, the skier tossed his bag smoothly to distract the wild animal – and the trick paid off. The bear rushed to the side of the slope for further investigation and the skier slid to safety unharmed.

“The skier did the right thing,” Ion Zaharia, a spokesperson for the local police, told ABC News. “The bear was distracted by things in his backpack.”

“We are considering moving the bear, which should be hibernating by now, but in recent years we have had more bears confronting skiers in winter.”

The surprise marked the third bear sighting that day, Digi24 reports. On the same Saturday, authorities received two other calls that a bear had been spotted on the slope of Clabucet. However, according to Zaharia, such bear scares are not uncommon for the Transylvania resort at this time of year.
