Bears looking to move up in the quarterback draft?

While the Bears may have promised Andy Dalton the starting gig, they are still looking for a starting quarterback. Tony Pauline from Pro Football Network (op Twitter) reports that Chicago is looking to move up the draft to pursue one of the best quarterback prospects.

One of the teams I’ve been told is a realistic trade-in option is the Chicago Bears, who want to trade in to get a QB, “ Pauline said on a recent episode of his podcast.

Pauline specifically points to the Cowboys at number 10 as a potential trading partner, who would (presumably) take Chicago out of the running Trevor Lawrence Zach Wilson, and at least one of them Justin Fields Mac Jones, and Trey LanceThe Bears are currently armed with the No. 20 pick in the first round, along with a second and third round.

While the bears can be placed on top of their depth map with Dalton and Nick Foles, there have been whispers that they could look at the draft (including the first round) for another quarterback. Head coach Mat Big even seemed to acknowledge that the organization kept an eye on a handful of rookies QBs during a recent meeting with reporters.

As everyone knows, we’ve been to a few pro days with some of these quarterbacks and it sure helps, but there are only so many you can do and see. What’s fair is that every other team does the same. Ryan and I are super excited about going through that evaluation process together and how we do it. It’s a challenge, but we’re looking forward to it. There are many good quarterbacks in this draft class.
