Bayern Munich rules out the departure of Hans-Dieter Flick

The manager of the German club, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said the coach’s departure at the end of the season is not planned.

MUNICH – The chairman of the board of directors of the Bayern Munich Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, ruled out the departure of the Bavarian team coach at the end of this season, Hans-Dieter Flick, whose name is considered one of the possible successors to Joachim Löw at the head of the national team.

Speaking to Welt am Sonntag, Rummenigge said, referring to Flick’s permanence at the club, that “this has nothing to do with probability” and that “it is a fact”.

“We would do well to carry out what we have contractually agreed upon. I have clearly communicated that to Hansi,” he said. Rummenigge, who said Flick received his words “in a professional manner.”

At the same time, he assured that his relationship with the Bayern, which has a contract until 2023, is “good and relaxed”.

On the 9th, the German Football Association (DFB) announced that Löw will leave his position as head of the national team after next summer’s European Championship.

Löw, who is leaving his position early – he had a contract until 2022 – took over the position of national coach after the 2006 World Cup as successor to Jürgen Klinsmann with whom he worked as an assistant coach since 2004.
