A sheep wandering around Australia had more than 75 pounds of extra wool it weighed. The sheep, named Baarack, got a much-needed shave by Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary after rescuing him earlier this month.
Under the heavy coat, Baarack was actually underweight and is now jumping back thanks to his new friends.
“Baarack is getting more self-confidence every day!” reads a TikTok from the sanctuary.
‘That Baarack, despite being a prey animal and having had so little contact with our species, now turns and looks at us, striding forward curiously to touch our outstretched hand, leaves us in no doubt that he associates the kindness we have offered us. him with something worth dealing with, ”says a post on the sanctuary’s Facebook page.
They detailed the love and care that employees gave to Baarack.
From getting rid of all that wool, removing the long and pointed grass seed that was wedged between his cornea and eyelid that had caused a nasty stomach ulcer, to the many hours we spent carefully picking dozens and dozens of stubbornly determined grass seeds those who had plowed their way to his flesh, Baarack, a sensible being, considers us the good ones. ‘
Baarack was seen in a forest by a maintenance man working on a nearby site, a shelter worker said USA Today
It appears that the sheep was once owned, with an ear tag ripped out, possibly because of the thick fur on its face.
Sheep should be shorn at least once a year, according to experts, to keep the wool light enough for the animals and to prevent possible contamination.
