A TikToker ended up in the hospital after hopping on the Gorilla Glue bandwagon – saying she ‘accidentally’ applied the heavy adhesive to her hair.
‘I don’t know what to do. This was an accident. I didn’t mean to put Gorilla Glue in my hair, ‘whines Avani Reyes in one of the many clips posted on the site.
“I have to go to the hospital so they can remove this Gorilla Glue. I have no idea what to do. I’ve tried washing it but it doesn’t come out, ”she says, adding that her“ scalp is burning ”.
But Reyes’ tricky situation, which follows that of “Gorilla Glue girl” Tessica Brown, has many people saying that her story seems a little hairy – and that the TikToker is trying to score her own 15 minutes of fame.
“I followed you, but you seemed like a great person. But you did that willingly after it happened to that lady. & you have the guts to ask people, ”said one user.
Are you just making fun of the other person who did this or did this actually happen? Either way, it’s wrong. you went to hospital and wasted (sic) time there, ”said another.
And a third simply said, “I hope it never comes out.”
Reyes, who has more than 459,000 followers on the video-sharing app, later followed suit, claiming the hospital was “doing nothing.”
‘I just got out of the hospital and they didn’t do anything for me. Look at my hair, ”she says in the clip.
Reyes said she was advised to try olive oil, tea tree oil, or coconut oil to get the gunk out – despite Brown’s similar failed attempts before Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng, performed a $ 12,500 free surgery to remove the glue from her hair.
“I used coconut oil for about half an hour and then I just washed my hair and there is still Gorilla Glue in my head. I think I should go bald, ”adds the woman, who claimed she raised enough money to travel to LA for surgery like Brown.
She even claimed that a generous benefactor donated $ 3,000 to her cause.
“You know it has definitely been a journey with this Gorilla Glue. It’s crazy, so thank you very much, ”she says.
Brown – who has hired an agent amidst all the publicity – raised nearly $ 24,000 to pay her medical bills, but said she would donate most of it to charity.
