Atletico Madrid 3-1 Valencia Three more goals against Valencia

Diego Simeone‘s Atletico Madrid have always been labeled a boring side to watch, but right now it couldn’t be further from the truth.
It’s just a shame that one of the most entertaining Atletico teams in years have to play for an empty Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
Their 3-1 win Valencia on Sunday evening it was proof that, with Luis Suarez and Joao Felix around, they are always entertaining.

Not expecting much Valencia to take the lead on the Wanda, let alone in such an incredible way.
Uros Racic opened the scoring in the first half with an unstoppable, curling stroke from distance that arched into the top corner, far out Jan Oblakrange.

Atletico had not scored from a corner for Sunday all season and, after coming close Jose Maria Gimenez, Joao Felix hit the spot of Thomas Lemar‘s crotch. It was an unorthodox finish for the Portuguese, but it worked.

There was a controversial moment in the first half then Maxi Gomez seemed to sweep Lemar‘s leg from under him in the Valencia penalty area. The referee did not give a penalty Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea.

Mario Hermoso turns out to be quite a useful player for Atletico when playing from the back. Its inch-perfect long stride for Joao Felix sparked the movement that led to Luis Suarez‘s purpose.

If there was a problem finding a replacement for the suspended Kieran Trippier, Yannick Carrasco at least gave a demonstration of what he can do in the second half. The Belgian moved to right-wing defender and performed much better than Sime Vrsaljko did in the first half.
