The highly anticipated Atari VCS retro console can also become quite a productivity device. Atari announced today that the system will have Google Chrome as its built-in browser, allowing you to access websites and the full suite of Google Workspace apps, such as Chrome, Docs and Meet from your couch. The Atari VCS also supports most of the major PC accessories, including webcams and the usual keyboard and mice.
However, the Chrome integration isn’t much of the console’s existing feature set. Atari had previously announced that you can also run PC operating systems from the VCS, including Windows, Linux and ChromeOS. Having the most popular browser baked in from scratch, you don’t have to do complex OS settings to use the VCS as a pseudo mini desktop.
