Asus is no stranger to putting it two monitors on one laptop, but for its next gaming phone, Asus is apparently trying to push some boundaries by putting a small secondary display on the back of the upcoming ROG Phone 5.
Admittedly, the idea of having a bonus display on the back of a phone is pretty silly, but coming from a phone line aimed at gamers where Asus has already added RGB lighting, see through vents and multiple USB-C ports, tacking on a tiny second screen isn’t actually that extreme.
In a short video spotted on Weibo by GSMArenaROG Phone 5 appears to have a small dot-matrix-like display placed diagonally across the screen back so you can see notifications or create small custom messages that you can see even when the phone is on its face. In some ways, it’s the natural progression for one phone ranges that have gradually gotten brighter and brighter RGB lighting over the past three years.
