AstraZeneca sells 500,000 doses of drugs that are said to protect people who cannot be vaccinated against the virus

The British Pharmacist AstraZeneca announced an agreement with the United States to ship 500,000 copies on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 dose extra of a possible therapy against covid with antibodies, which, if authorized, could protect against virus for people who can’t be vaccinated

In a release, the company explained that the pact with the Ministry of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Defense another agreement extends from October 2020 requiring the U.S. AZD7442 drug, with an option to acquire more in 2021, and promised the final phase of the Clinical studies.

With the additional 500,000 doses announced on March 16 and a further 100,000 agreed in parallel with Defense, AstraZeneca could deliver Washington in 2021 to 700,000 dose of the drug, notes in the note.

“To combine antibodies with long-term effect has the potential to provide protection almost immediately for those who cannot be vaccinated, both to avoid contamination around the disease in already infected patients, ”said the pharmaceutical company’s CEO, Pascal Soirot.

“The support of the United States government is critical to speeding up development of AZD7442, which we believe is this one tools important in the fight against Covid-19, ”he added.

The drug, which is designed to reduce stamina of the most potent variants of the virus, is currently being evaluated in clinical tests with 9,000 volunteers in different parts of the world, the statement said.

AstraZeneca notes that the total value of the similarities with the US government for development and delivery of AZD7442 in 2021 is approximately $ 726 million.
