Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s new patch introduced a bad face breaking bug

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Face Animation Bug

Damn, it looks like the latest update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – patch 1.011 – has introduced a rather nasty bug. The aforementioned update focuses on fixes for a host of (relatively minor) issues, but somehow managed to break through the game’s facial animation system as well. It’s never easy, right?

The problem surfaced on Reddit earlier today, and now that same thread is full of people saying they are running into the same bug. We had to try this out for ourselves and we ran into the problem almost immediately. Not every scene in the game seems to be affected by the bug, but those that are will see non-player characters who can’t move their mouths while talking. They just stand there staring into Eivor’s soul as words fill the air. It’s all terribly upsetting and clearly takes you out of the experience.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has already had its fair share of technical issues, and while many of these issues have been fixed in recent months, new bugs are the last thing open-world adventure needs. I hope it is a quick fix.
