The upcoming River Raid update of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released on PS5 and PS4 tomorrow, Ubisoft has confirmed (that’s Feb. 16, just to be clear). Officially called Title Update 1.1.2, the patch includes the new River Raid activity, as well as some new skills to unlock, general game improvements, and bug fixes. It’s a pretty big download on Sony’s systems, weighing in at 11 GB on PS5 and 10 GB on PS4.

YULE SEASON: RIVER RAIDS GAME MODE

We have added in-game support for River Raids.

  • Prepare your Jomsviking team for this new, highly replayable mode that takes you to unexplored areas of England, full of robbery opportunities. New loot, rewards and challenges await the Raven Clan!
  • River Raids mode is part of the Yule Season content. It is free to all Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla players and can be accessed in-game after downloading Title Update 1.1.2.

NEW SKILLS

  • Berserker trap:This will attach a trap to your arrow, releasing hallucinogenic powder. Any movement in the vicinity will trigger the trap. Surprise clueless passers-by!
  • Battle cry:In a fit of rage, Eivor lets out a blood-curdling scream, gaining strength and causing nearby enemies to stumble in fear, interrupting their attacks.
  • Shoulder bash:Eivor performs a shoulder bash that pushes back enemies and destroys objects.

NEW SKILLS

  • Assassin Carry:Automatically wear a body after a successful murder.
  • Assassin Slide:Slide into enemies and knock them off balance while sprinting.
  • Power Stroke:Activate a speed boost on the tall ship at the expense of stamina.
  • Arrow Harrier:Eivor is more likely to loot arrows from archers.
  • Fight ready:Always start a fight with a slot machine full of adrenaline.
  • Long ship bracket:When you are in command of the tall ship, the crew will raise their shield with you.

GAME IMPROVEMENTS

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Runes and resources used to upgrade Berserker equipment are returned to the player inventory when an item is lost.
  • Improved vibration feedback while fishing. Fishing goes BRRRR.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to exit disguise mode if players attacked while driving.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from catching fish in the sea or on the shore.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a school of fish to take a long time to respawn after one was caught.
  • Items purchased from the Animus Store will only be given to players after returning to England from Vinland.
  • Animations of predator attacks have been changed to give players a little more time to react.
  • Fixed an issue where dust was not available. Everyone liked that.
  • Purchase date added to items listed in the section of the store owned.

TO BALANCE

  • Removed diamond rune slots from equipment other than torsos. Runes placed in here will be returned to the player inventory.

GRAPHICS, AUDIO AND ANIMATION

  • Fixed various graphics or lighting issues.
  • Fixed several texture issues.
  • Fixed an issue that caused explosion VFX to be missing when oil jars exploded. Oil pots are now going BOOM.
  • (PS4 ™ / PS5 ™) The Muspell Warg mount will now burn with the fire from Hell!
  • The blood of your enemies will now stain all clothing.
  • Fixed several issues with character or NPC animation.
  • Fixed several issues.
  • Fixed an issue where visual effects from the Draugr set were not displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where arrows disappeared from the quiver after re-equipping the bow from inventory.

QUESTS, WORLD EVENTS AND SIDE ACTIVITIES

  • Fixed an issue in Storming the Walls that prevented players from completing the quest. Gunnar has decided to join the festivities in The First Night of Samhain, allowing players to complete the quest. Time for a party!
  • Fixed an issue that caused NPC to be killed in The Good Men of Sherwood World Event. Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, god, what a day.
  • Jomsviking gear will now correctly display their quality on the customization page.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause Jomsviking to change shape and size in the menu when recruited.
  • Randvi is ready to hear the news after completing the Sciropescire Arc, allowing the alliance to be completed.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from interacting with Tove after completing Carrying the Torch.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some dice to be reused when both players used the God Favor and gave 3 extra dice. Nothing up your sleeve anymore.
  • Fixed an issue with the Fishmonger encounter that caused the mission not to be marked complete after the kill was confirmed.
  • Players will no longer be ashen as they escape before fighting the Bard in The Devil Has All the Best Tunes.
  • Players loading a save made after pressing Clues and Riddles can now complete the objective.
  • Fixed an issue in Extended Family that caused the boss to not deal damage during underground attacks.
  • Fixed an issue in Extended Family that caused the boss to get stuck near walls, stay underground, or not participate in battle at all.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the last order member from being revealed. No more Revealio!
  • Fixed an issue in Binding Fate that prevented players from completing the boss encounter due to the boss possibly getting stuck underground.
  • Fixed an issue in Binding Fate that prevented players from completing the quest after speaking to Tyr.
  • Fixed an issue in War Weary that prevented players from completing the quest after defeating all NPCs outside.
  • Fixed an issue where all Order members were killed after killing a Zealot. This may be the wildest problem ever seen.
  • Fixed an issue in The Big Finish that prevented players from completing the quest when visiting the hideout before the quest began.
  • Fixed an issue in Blood from a Stone that prevented players from moving a stack of cargo.
  • Fixed an issue in The Prodigal Prince that caused the target to hang when Eivor killed the first training dummy before reaching the checkpoint.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from interacting with Gotafrid Fair-Robes after the fight if the players threw them into the river. Yeeeeeet!
  • Fixed an issue in The Twit Saga Part I where the house would sometimes not catch fire, preventing players from completing the World Event.
  • Fixed an issue in Degolas the Beautiful that caused the child to grow in size. DELAY.
  • Fixed an issue in Degolas the Beautiful that prevented Degolas from leaving the water.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from interacting with NPCs from the settlement.
  • Fixed an issue in Crushed Dreams that prevented players from completing the World Event because the woman was dead. Quest name is correct.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the world map to become unavailable after speaking to Ceolwulf.

GAMEPLAY, COMBAT AND AI

  • Fixed several issues with NPC behavior.
  • Mounts listen for Eivor’s call from the Quick Actions Wheel.
  • Fixed an issue that caused NPC to die before being hit. Calls an emergency meeting.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Eivor to tiptoe after being inactive for a while. Eivor and pointe shoes.
  • Fixed an issue that caused miniature decorative elements to expand.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to obtain Nodens’ Arc using save / load actions. It had to be done.

AUDIO

  • (PS4 ™) Fixed an issue that caused crackling noises to be heard.
  • Fixed an issue where dead swarms made inactive sounds. I know of an Animus glitch when I see one.

PHOTO MODE

  • Fixed an issue that prevented frames in Photo Mode from being scaled to the size of the game window.
  • Fixed an issue that caused terrain rendering issues when moving the camera.

USER INTERFACE / HUD

  • Fixed several UI / HUD issues.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Premium Start Pack items to display in Fine instead of Mythic quality.
  • After they encounter Cola, the corresponding icon will be displayed on the Order tab.
  • Fixed an issue that caused acquired Reda contracts to appear in the Cent mission log section.
  • Fixed an issue where contracts were not counted towards Viking for Hire progress.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from interacting with items in Reda’s store when Focused Navigation is enabled.
  • Players can switch targets with the mouse wheel by using M and K.
  • Fixed an issue that caused stick input to hang after enabling the Swap Sticks option during Cairns.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Call Mount prompt to appear every time a whistle was used to attract enemies.
  • Fixed an issue when pressing D-Pad causing Daily Concept Art to persist.
  • Fixed an issue that caused different Daily Concept Art to show on the world map.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the mouse cursor from being displayed when switching back to M&K after using the controller as a single source.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the order of old icons from changing based on selected color blind settings.
  • Fixed an issue that caused control conflicts in photo mode when the Switch Sticks option was set to ON.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the slider value of subtitle backgrounds from being reset to default.
  • Fixed an issue that caused exploration issues to reset to Adventurer instead of Explorer when resetting to default.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the adrenaline bar from filling after the second kill was done with chain kills.
  • Added a stop fishing button while aiming.
  • Addressed several instances where Odin’s Sight highlighted props that shouldn’t.
  • Fixed an issue that caused ‘corrupted data’ errors after opening the save menu.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the bar that was looted from the destroyer (Hamptun blockade) not counting towards the completion of wealth.
  • Fixed an issue where Fly Agar mysteries were not marked with the correct mystery icon.

SYSTEM

  • Fixed an issue that caused online service errors when creating or hovering over photos.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to hang while loading after entering the save / load menu.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the MSI voice command feature to stop working after save / load.

PERFORMANCE AND STABILITY

  • Improved performance and stability.
