Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a secret alien arch in the rock stack

Here I thought the Borderlands games were the only ones that would throw cool loot at you when you hit clumps of dirt and rock, but it turns out Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has something to hide in its rock stacks too. Over the weekend, Valhalla players managed to find a secret Isu arch by hitting a rather modest pile of bricks repeatedly – however, this is definitely not the way you should find it.

In this video, YouTuber “JorRaptor” shows how it all works (thanks, Kotaku). First you need Eivor to travel north to Eurvicscire and find the special rock stack by a lake.

These rock piles are usually smashed when hit, causing iron ore to fall. The weird thing about this one, however, is that it doesn’t break. Keep hitting it, save and reload it, then hit it some more, and eventually the mythical arc, Noden’s Arc, will appear in your inventory.

It is a weapon that created the Isu, an ancient civilization in Assassin’s Creed lore that predates humans. They were basically gods, and some kind of aliens too, so that’s cool. The arc is all nice and glowing, here’s a nice screenshot taken by Reddit user “inxcognito”:

Unfortunately, finding this weapon by saving stones seems more of a bug than a feature.

“This is a clever brute force hack, not the ‘right’ way to get this bend,” said Valhalla’s narrative director Darby McDevitt tweeted. “There is an ‘in-world’ way to achieve this. But I assume this will work for an Any% Speedrun. “

He adds that the legitimate way to get the bow “involves a few steps that I haven’t seen humans try yet,” but he doesn’t say exactly what those steps are. It’s nice to hear that a few months after release the game still has some unsolved mysteries, I want to dive back in and do some detective work (although I also want to grab the bow in a rock hard way before it’s patched up) .

Speaking of ancient civilization, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players have recently managed to translate the fictional Isu language as well. I wonder what other weird and wonderful secrets those god aliens have been hiding.
