Public health officials in Arizona reported 819 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, along with 30 additional deaths from COVID-19.

The state’s last documented totals were 849,021 COVID-19 infections and 17,092 fatalities, according to the ADHS COVID-19 dashboard.

The dashboard also showed that 4,032,557 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, with 2,529,589 people (35.2% of the state population) receiving at least one injection and 1,655,985 people fully vaccinated.

The number of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients in state hospitals rose to 576 Friday. The number of IC beds used by COVID-19 patients fell by two to 149.

The state’s daily health department updates and confirms current case, death, and testing data after the state receives statistics, which may lag several days or more. They do not represent actual activity for the past 24 hours.

The hospital admission data posted every morning is reported electronically the night before by hospitals across the state.

COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, does not affect some people and is severely disabling or fatal for others. Infected people without symptoms – including but not limited to a cough, fever, and difficulty breathing – are able to spread the virus.

Diagnostic tests are available at hundreds of locations in Arizona and should be sought by anyone with symptoms or who may have been exposed to an infected person. Information on locations, schedules, and registration can be found on the Department of Health Services website.

All adults are eligible for COVID-19 vaccines from state-run sites and other providers in Maricopa County, with a minimum age of 16 for the Pfizer injection and 18 for Moderna or Johnson & Johnson versions.

Appointments at the five state-run mass vaccination centers for the following week are made available every Friday at 11 a.m., but they don’t last long.

For details on vaccine availability statewide, the ADHS website has a vaccine finder page with a map of locations and registration and eligibility information.

For information on metro Phoenix vaccine availability, Maricopa County Public Health has an interactive map of pharmacies, government-operated sites, health clinics, and pop-up distribution events.
