Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray returns from ankle injury vs. Los Angeles Rams

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray returned to Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams to begin the fourth quarter after leaving early in the first quarter with a right ankle injury.

Backup Chris Streveler took over for Murray until he returned 2:25 pm over in the game with the Cardinals behind 18-7.

Murray left the game after being injured by a bag from Rams defender Morgan Fox with 12:14 left in the first. Murray limped up and walked straight to the dressing room. He eventually returned to the field, attempted to walk off the injury and was assessed in the blue injury tent but walked back to the locker room.

Murray had re-taped and warmed up his left ankle after returning to the sidelines, but didn’t play again until the fourth quarter.

Murray spent time in and out of the locker room during the first half and the beginning of the third quarter. Streveler took over for Murray and threw a touchdown on his first drive, but the attack wasn’t much more profitable.

Murray suffered a “lower leg” injury in the closing seconds of last week’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, according to coach Kliff Kingsbury, saying he “felt fine” this week.
