Last week, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed an executive order to hopefully increase the state’s vaccination efforts and make more vaccines available. The problem, however, was the number of vaccines the state was able to receive.
To date, more than 702,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered to more than 579,000 Arizonans, of which 109,000 have received both doses, according to ADHS.

“We know the vaccine is in high demand and we expect the commitments to be fulfilled quickly,” said ADHS Director Dr. Cara Christ. “Building on the success of the State Farm Stadium site, we can quickly replicate these sites to add capacity when we get a vaccine. Our only limiting factor is the amount of vaccine we receive from our federal partners. “
TOMORROW: @AmsterdamArt opens registration for 21,000 more #COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Arizona acted quickly to make sure these vaccine doses get to Arizonans urgently, rather than sitting in the freezer. 1 /
