A 5-year-old girl who was involved in a Missouri car accident involving Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid was left in a hospital bed for her life, photos show.
The young girl, whose family members identified as Ariel, was hooked up to medical tubing and heavily connected in images posted to a GoFundMe page after the crash.
Ariel who just turned 5 suffered from brain swelling and bleeding around her brain, she hasn’t woken up since the crash, the girl’s aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, wrote on GoFundMe. “She is still in very critical condition.”
Reid was behind the wheel of a white Dodge Ram near Chiefs’ practice facility at around 9 p.m. on Thursday when he hit a Chevrolet Traverse pulled on the side of a freeway driveway, authorities said.
Reid, the son of head coach Andy Reid, reportedly told police that he had two to three drinks and took the prescription drug Adderall.
Ariel’s mother had driven the Traverse to the I-435 driveway to help a cousin who ran out of gas, according to the GoFundMepage.
In addition to Ariel who was injured in the crash, a 4-year-old child also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The GoFundMe page has raised more than $ 123,000 since it launched on Saturday.
