Arcade1Up releases its own Killer Instinct Arcade Cabinet

Arcade 1Up – known for recreating classic arcade cabinet titles such as Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam – unveiled a cabinet for the 1994 release of Rare, Killer Instinct. This is the same game that was ported to the Super Nintendo a year later – although there are notable differences between the two versions.

This cabinet also contains a number of other rare games. There is the 1996 sequel Killer Instinct 2, Battletoads (the arcade version) and Battletoads & Double Dragon (1993).

“Killer Instinct ™. Fans loved it, critics loved it. For many retro-gamer enthusiasts, it’s a definitive mid-90s title, with all due respect for the gameplay, soundtrack and 3D rendered graphics. Experience it. That videogame era once again with this put-in-your-tracks arcade cabinet, which also includes Killer Instinct 2 ™, Battletoads ™ (yes, the arcade version!) and Battletoads ™ / Double Dragon ™ as bonus games. “

The cabinet itself can support up to two players, has a “live wifi function” – which allows you to compete against opponents online, and can be increased in height.

“Do you need to add some height to this cabinet? No problem, the included matching riser will get you there. Want to start a fight remotely? With the Live WiFi function you can record opponents from anywhere and play from their own cabinet.”

There is no word yet on a release date and the design or artwork on the case is not final yet. What do you think? Is this the arcade machine you’ve been waiting for? Leave a comment below.
