Google’s new operating system for the Chromecast has yet to be polished up. While one of the biggest selling points is the integration of all your different streaming services in one interface, not all apps behave the same way. For example, the shows you watch in HBO Max appear in the “Continue Watching” row of Google TV, but for some reason not in Prime Video or Netflix titles.
We’ll have to wait for the Apple TV app to roll out on the Android TV platform to see how well it will work, but for now, Google promises to include at least “Apple Originals in your personalized recommendations and search results” and save them in your universal watchlist. Supposedly, the Assistant also finds shows from Apple TV + when you use it to search for something to watch. However, with the new service in Google TV, it is at least nice to see the media library grow with exclusive Apple titles such as Ted Lasso and The morning show.
