After 3 RC builds released in the past few weeks, Apple officially released macOS Big Sur 11.2 today for all users. The release includes some major fixes for Bluetooth, external displays, iCloud issues, and more.
macOS Big Sur 11.2 is now rolling out and should show up in System Preferences> Software Update. Check back often if you don’t see the update right away.
Users were eager to see this update land as a number of notable issues with Bluetooth, external displays, iCloud and the new ProRAW photos affected many users.
The 11.2 Big Sur public release is build 20D64, the same as RC3 we saw for beta testers last week. It weighs up to 3.66 GB.
macOS Big Sur 11.2 improves Bluetooth reliability and resolves the following issues:
- External displays can show a black screen when connected to a Mac mini (M1, 2020) using an HDMI to DVI converter
- Edits to Apple ProRAW photos in the Photos app may not be saved
- iCloud Drive can be disabled after disabling the iCloud Drive Desktop & Documents Folders option
- System preferences may not be unlocked when you enter your administrator password
- The Globe key may not display the Emojis and Symbols panel when pressed
