- A newly unearthed iPhone hack shows how users can quickly rearrange multiple apps on their home screen at once.
- The neat trick makes it a lot easier for people to set up their iPhone exactly the way they want.
As an avid iPhone user for over a decade, I don’t usually come across iPhone tips and tricks that I haven’t come across before. And sure, new tricks and workarounds inevitably surface every time Apple introduces a new iteration of iOS, but those discoveries are usually discovered slowly but surely during the beta release period.
But every time in a blue moon, a new trick will appear out of nowhere that blows me away. And today, my friends, is one of those days. The most recent preview comes to us from all places via TikTok. The trick in question provides users with an incredibly efficient way to move apps en masse to a completely different phone screen. The tip is a lifesaver for anyone eager to reorganize the layout of their iPhone or iPad.

For example, let’s say you want to move 8 applications from your home screen to the second page of apps on your device. Normally, you press an app and select the “Edit Home Screen” option from the context menu. Once the apps started to wiggle, manually dragged each application one by one from the home screen to the second page of apps. Needless to say, this can quickly get annoying, especially if you’re trying to move apps from the home screen to say the fifth page of apps on your iPhone.
However, this iPhone trick allows you to select multiple applications at the same time and move them all to another page at once. This is how it works.
To get started, long press an app icon until the context menu appears. Select the selection “Edit home screen”. Once the applications start to wiggle, press an application you want to move to another page and move it a bit in any direction. You need to make sure to keep your finger pressed on the app all the time. From there, with your finger still on the screen, take your other finger and simply tap any other application you want to move to another page. When you do this, you will see each newly tapped application get carried away to the location of the first app icon. It may seem like you’re adding all apps to a folder, but that’s not the case.
After selecting each app you want to move, drag the collection of app icons to the right or left depending on which page you want to move them to. If you do, all selected apps will reappear on the new page.
