Apple plans to renew its free Apple TV + trials again, this time through July. When Apple TV + launched in November 2019, Apple offered free Apple TV + subscriptions to those who bought a new Apple device in or after September 2019.
Those free plans were due to expire in November 2020, but in October 2020, Apple announced that it is extending the free trials until the month of January. Now it looks like all Apple TV + viewers will get extended access until the end of July.
Apple TV + subscribers with a subscription that expires between January and June will get extended access at no extra charge.
Customers who pay for Apple TV + will get $ 4.99 for each month through July as indicated by 9to5Mac, so paying customers will not be unfairly affected by the free trials offered to other Apple TV + users.
Customers eligible for the free Apple TV + extension will receive an email over the next few weeks.
By extending the free trial period, Apple will have time to present more original content to Apple TV + viewers before they have the option to cancel their subscription. Apple is steadily expanding its Apple TV + content catalog, and the second seasons of many of the original launch shows will be released in January and February.
