Updating: We have confirmation:
Original story [Sat 30th Jan, 2021 06:00 GMT]: According to a recent YouTube video and Amazon listing, Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale free-to-play game Apex Legends arrives next month on Feb. 2.
While there’s no official confirmation from EA yet, the game’s director, Chad Grenier, has now responded to a question on Twitter: when the Switch version of the game will be released. Apparently Nintendo fans can expect news very soon. Here’s the full exchange:
Apex Legends was originally scheduled to launch on Switch last year, until Respawn decided to delay the game in October. Grenier said this was to make sure the team did the Switch version “right.”
There is also news of the Japanese retail release via GoNintendo. Unsurprisingly, it is filled with “digital only” content and does not include a game card.
When Apex Legends arrives next week, at this rate power a surprising drop in the eShop. Will you watch this free-to-play title when it lands? Leave your comment below.
