A Apex Legends developer has provided an update on a highly anticipated feature with both good and bad news. There are many possibilities Apex Legends players on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S will want to see added to the game, including leaderboards. In the past, developers of the game have hinted that the feature could be added in the future, but so far these tips have not been realized.
That said, Chin Xiang Chong, the game’s chief designer, gave an update on the feature this week. The good news is that the team hasn’t forgotten about the rankings, which are still on the list of things it would like to do. The bad news doesn’t sound like it’s at the top of this list.
“Yes, it’s on a list of things we would like to do,” Chong said. “Unfortunately, the list is very long and time and resources are limited, so it’s ultimately a matter of priorities, and unfortunately, compared to cross-play, for example, this was a lower priority.”
Yes, it is on a list of things we would like to do. Unfortunately, the list is very long and time and resources are limited, so it’s ultimately a matter of priorities, and unfortunately, compared to, say, cross-play, this was a lower priority.

Unfortunately, this is all Chong has to say about the position. In other words, while it sounds like it is coming, there is no message when it will come. At this point, however, it’s safe to assume it won’t drop during Season 8.
