The Buccaneers wide receiver will not be present for the game against the Packers with a knee injury
TAMPA – It Tampa Bay Buccaneers they will not have the wide receiver Antonio Brown for the NFC Championship Game Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, head coach Bruce Arians announced Friday.
“I just spoke to him this morning and put him on the plane and fly and flare him up even more is no use,” Arians said. “It wasn’t as close as we expected so we’ll have it ready for the next [partido]”.
Antonio Brown he sustained a knee injury in the Divisional Round game against the New Orleans Saints and only played 27 plays. He didn’t train this week.
Arians had reported it as “day to day,” but Antonio Brown he could not progress fast enough in his recovery.
The former All-Pro led the Buccaneers received in yards in the last five weeks of the regular season and had a 36-yard touchdown reception in his Wild Card Round win over Washington. Antonio Brown He also has experience playing in two Conference Finals and a Super Bowl, something that very few players have on the roster except Tom Brady.
Arians said he believes Scotty Miller and rookie Tyler Johnson will be able to perform. Johnson made a significant third down reception for a 15-yard gain against the Saints. Miller had a 29-yard front against New Orleans, but he has competed in some of Brady’s best deep-pass games this season, a 33-yard touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders and a 48-yard touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
“I think when we look at last week when Scotty and Tyler played those big plays in the fourth quarter, the confidence that the coaches and Tom have in those guys because they deserved it,” Arians said. “We will miss Antonio, but we have people who can play.”
Arians said that there is a possibility that the defensive tackle Vita Vea play again this week after training for the first time since breaking her ankle in week 5.
“He looks pretty good. He’s been racing for almost three weeks and he had a really good training yesterday and a really good training today,” said Arians. “We haven’t made that decision yet, but let’s see if we want to activate it or not. There is a possibility.”
