Lourdes Del Rio, journalist from ‘First impact’ and Univision News, who was able to test positive for COVID-19 in July, he had to share sad news today: his father died of the virus.

On his Instagram account, Del Río, who has excellent communication with his followers over the networks, shared the sad news of his father’s death as a result of COVID-19.

With a series of very important photos for her, such as her wedding, her father’s visit to Univision and others, the journalist dedicated these words to her on Instagram.

“There is news that we know will inevitably reach our lives. I got one yesterday. With the transparency that characterizes me, I share with you that my adored father, my hero, one of the greatest loves I have ever had in my life, has left this world.

Rafael Antonio Del Río Pérez was a great man and the best of parents. He was always there at my best and worst moments. I am left with the satisfaction that he lived proudly of me. My old man enjoyed all my performances as if they were his own. And they were because, thanks to the opportunities he and my mother gave me, I became the woman I am today.

As a photographer by trade and a born communicator, Dad taught me to love images. As an excellent chess player and pre-eminently self-taught, he always managed to have a pleasant conversation, both with a bricklayer and a lawyer.

Years ago, Alzheimer’s had taken away his companionship and sharp intelligence, and now Covid is taking him away. For those who think the coronavirus is not real, think again. The enemy is still there and chasing us, we have to keep taking care of ourselves.

You know I’m trying to live my life #EnPositivo and that’s why, despite what I’m feeling today, I’m reminding you that pain is part of life, without that point of comparison we wouldn’t be able to understand happiness. 🙏🏻

This hole I feel in my soul today will narrow with the passage of time, but what I know for sure is that what will never diminish is the great love that I feel and will always feel for the being who gave me life and took me away. the hand to live it. Calm down dear Daddy, you have had a wonderful life and those of us who love you are celebrating today. Rest in peace. 🙏🏻 “.

In July, we told you that Lourdes, who had taken extreme caution despite continuing to report, had tested positive for COVID-19. He had difficult moments and others softer. And while she did not need to be hospitalized, she was monitored by her doctor.

Today, the same disease she was able to overcome has overtaken her father. Rest in peace Rafael Antonio and resign for Lourdes and her family.
