Last Wednesday morning, the El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH) announced the deaths of 41 people from complications caused by Covid-19, in addition to registering 182 new infections.

Health officials indicated that the 41 deaths on this day correspond to 15 women and 26 men in the age group 30 to 90 years; all had underlying health problems, it was reported.

However, the DPH stressed that the deaths did not occur in one day, but over a seven-month period.

Likewise, 26 more cases were disclosed that are part of the delayed local results provided to the Department of Health by the state.

The results come from tests conducted at weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of 2021 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are currently in week 7.

These figures show a cumulative total of 120,205 positive cases, of which 110,766 have recovered and 7,519 remain active, according to the El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH).

So far, 389 patients have received medical care in regional hospitals, 151 of them in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 103 connected to artificial respirators or respiratory equipment.
