The overloaded sheep, named Baarack, was found “roaming the rugged Victorian bushland” by a maintenance man who took it to Edgar’s Mission in Lancefield, Victoria, in early February, the shelter said.
In the video filmed by Edgar’s Mission staff on Feb. 5, Baarack struggles to balance himself under the weight of his matted and dirty fleece.
“This is a good place to be, ole” mate, “one hears a man tell the sheep.
Edgar’s Mission told Storyful that Baarack “was doing so well” and was used to living in the shelter.
According to CNN, he had shed more than 35 pounds of wool.
“We truly believe he understands that what we have done for him has lightened his life and changed it for the better,” they said. “For now, he’s coming in with just as happy other rescued sheep.”
Baarack’s before-and-after photos have gone viral online.
In case you didn’t know, sheep need humans to cut their wool. If it continues to grow out of control, it is bad for their health.
