Following the Animal Crossing: New Horizonsversion 1.8.0 update last week, Nintendo has now finally released the full patch notes.
Most notably, this update adds Super Mario’s 35th anniversary collaboration items. In addition, “temporary” seasonal items are available at Nook Shopping. Last but not least is a fix for an issue that showed up in the previous update and some other tweaks to improve the experience.

Far. 1.8.0 (released February 25, 2021)
The software is updated if you select “Ver. 1.8.0” in the top right corner of the title screen.
General updates
- Collaboration items have been added as part of Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary. These items can be ordered from Nook Shopping from March 1, 2021.
- The following content has also been added:
- Extra temporary seasonal items from Nook Shopping.
Fixed issues
- Fixed problem with Ver. 1.7.0 if a user has selected their own user icon from the HOME Menu followed by ‘Search for users you’ve played with’ in the ‘Add Friend’ menu after an online or local wireless multiplayer session, the Nintendo Switch nickname user of the other The player would appear under “In-game name” if that player was selected from “Users you played with”.
- Other tweaks and fixes have been made to improve the gaming experience.
Together with all this you will receive a mushroom mural in the mail. It appears that the Warp Pipe item in this update has also given players access to the forbidden fourth level in the game.
