Craig Cavanna, an FWS detective, told the Citrus County Chronicle that he cannot comment on “an ongoing investigation.” Added that the person responsible faces a fine of $ 50,000 and one year in prison federal government for harassing a protected species.

The manatee was found on Sunday, Jan. 10, four days after Trump supporters raided the United States Congress and killed five, although it was not clear when this crime could have been committed.

He swam in the waters of the Homosassa River, in an area on the west coast of Florida where manatees congregate in search of warm water at this time of year.
