Andy Cohen says Sharon Osbourne should return to The Talk amid racism

Andy Cohen has weighed in on Sharon Osborne’s ‘Megan Markle race row,’ where her CBS program The Talk was temporarily shut down.

Sharon, 68, was accused of being racist after defending her boyfriend Piers Morgan over his comments about Megan Markle’s Oprah interview.

Discussing the saga on Thursday, Andy said he believes Sharon should never have been taken off the air.

It’s amid fears Sharon may never return to The Talk after CBS launched a probe following her on-air feud with co-host Sheryl Underwood over Piers’ comments about Megan Markle.

Last week, Piers left the Good Morning Britain show after saying he didn’t believe a word Meghan said in her Oprah interview, revealing she had contemplated suicide during her time as a senior royal.

Sharon tweeted in support of Piers shortly after his departure from Good Morning Britain was announced, saying, ‘I’m with you. I will assist you. People forget that you are being paid for your opinion and that you are just speaking your truth. ‘

Sheryl addressed the Tweet on the air and asked Sharon, “ What would you say to people who feel that while standing next to your friend, it looks like you’ve given validation or a safe haven to something he’s uttered that is racist even if you disagree? ‘

Sharon hit back, saying she felt like she was being put on ‘the electric chair’ because she had him as a friend.

She asked her co-hosts to show her what Piers had said was racist.

Sharon said in an ET interview that she felt blinded by Underwood when she was questioned on the air last week about her support for Morgan and his right to free speech.

In the fallout of the on-air clash, CBS canceled episodes of The Talk for Monday and Tuesday, and the show would return on Wednesday.

However, CBS has since confirmed that The Talk won’t be back until next week while an investigation is underway.
